saskbarley board of directors nominations open
June 2, 2025

Nominations now open for SaskBarley Board of Directors

News Board of Directors, Elections, Press Release

For Immediate Release

June 2, 2025 (SASKATOON, SK) – Nominations are now open for three positions on the SaskBarley Board of Directors. The nomination period runs from June 2 to September 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM (noon).

Any registered barley producer in Saskatchewan is eligible to run for the board. To qualify, candidates must have produced and sold barley in the province within the past two years and must not have requested a levy refund during the last fiscal year (August 1, 2023 – July 31, 2024). At least two other registered barley producers must support each nomination.

“As a farmer-led organization, strong producer voices are essential to SaskBarley’s continued success,” says Cody Glenn, Chair of SaskBarley. “Whether it’s shaping research priorities, advocating for our industry, or building market opportunities, our board plays a hands-on role in driving real impact for barley producers across the province. If you care about the future of barley in Saskatchewan, I encourage you to step forward.”

Board members help guide SaskBarley’s investments in research, market development, and policy engagement on behalf of barley growers. Directors are elected for a four-year term.

Nomination forms and full eligibility details are available online at SaskBarley.com/director-elections. Submit nominations early to allow time for verification and any necessary follow-up.

The Sask Wheat, Sask Mustard and Saskatchewan Pulse Growers producer organizations are also accepting nominations for new directors in 2025. Find more information at their respective websites: SaskWheat.ca, SaskMustard.com and SaskPulse.com.
