Voting Now Open for SaskBarley Election

News

Saskatchewan Barley Development Commission (SaskBarley) has announced that voting is now open for the 2023 election. Voting packages in a bright blue envelope are now in the mail for all registered barley producers in Saskatchewan

“Active participation in this election is vital,” said SaskBarley chair Keith Rueve. “We encourage everyone who is registered to cast their vote and contribute to the future of SaskBarley.”

In this election, there are four nominees for three open positions. The nominees are, in alphabetical order: Chad Ferguson, Naicam, SK; Gordon Moellenbeck, Englefeld, SK; Matt Enns, Rosthern, SK; and Thomas Sunderland, Quill Lake, SK.

The official voting period runs from Oct. 19, 2023, until Nov. 29, 2023. SaskBarley encourages all registered producers to review the candidate profiles and their respective visions for the future of Saskatchewan’s barley industry.

“We have lots of available information on this group of candidates,” added Rueve. “All those who are interested can visit our elections page on the website, listen to interviews or read a Q&A with our nominees in the latest issue of “The Barley Bin” magazine – which also has just been delivered to mailboxes across the province.”

Ballots must be received by the Returning Officer no later than 4 p.m. on Nov. 29, 2023. Election results will be announced in mid-December with the new directors’ taking office after the SaskBarley AGM on Jan. 9th, 2024.
