BarleyBin Live Event Brings Agronomic Experts To Harvest Eatery In Shaunavon, SK
February 26, 2024 (Saskatoon, SK) The Saskatchewan Barley Development Commission (SaskBarley) is bringing the BarleyBin Live to SW Saskatchewan farmers. This intimate event pairs great food and the launch of a new local brew with an engaging question and answer session between producers and some of the barley industry’s top experts.
At BarleyBin Live, three industry experts provide a brief presentation in their knowledge area with plenty of time to answer questions and generate interactive discussion. This year’s guests include Dr. Phillip Harder, Research Director & Hydrological Scientist at Croptimistic Technologies; Christiane Catellier, Research Agronomist at Indian Head Agricultural Research Foundation (IHARF); and Dr. Charles Geddes, a Research Scientist in Weed Ecology and Cropping Systems with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Lethbridge.
“We have an exciting lineup of speakers who are able to provide insight on moisture management strategies, choosing yield-stable barley varieties, and managing herbicide-resistant kochia,” said Mitchell Japp, Research and Extension Manager with SaskBarley.
This live event takes place March 13, 2024, from 6:30 – 9:30 PM at the Harvest Eatery in Shaunavon, SK.
“Registration is complimentary, but space is limited so we encourage everyone who wants to attend to get a ticket soon,” Japp continued. More details are available at SaskBarley.com/events, and tickets are available through EventBrite.
This event is one of the many ways SaskBarley reaches its producers with the latest research, industry announcements, and events. Connect with SaskBarley on Facebook, X, and YouTube, and check out BarleyBin.ca for the most recent issues of their magazine, e-newsletter, and podcast.
